Louis Theroux's African Hunting Holiday

I'm currently watching Louis Theroux's latest
documentary for the BBC - Louis Theroux's
African Hunting Holiday. The opening scene
shows a man helping his young (under 10) daughter use
a crossbow to shoot a baby warthog through the lungs
and kill it; her first ever wild animal kill. A child
shooting a child. It's amazing that these people are
so obsessed with killing that they don't realise what
they are doing. If the daughter had been shot through
the lungs with an arrow they would consider it
barbaric.
In the meantime a bunch of Americans from Ohio are in South Africa to hunt in an artificial hunting environment - where the animals are not exactly wild, but are kept in the park with the purpose of having them available to be shot and killed for 'trophy hunters'. Depending on the animal, the higher the cost. One dumb and ignorant yank wants to kill a Rhino because they apparently look mean. I thought Rhino hunting was illegal. He doesn't go after a Rhino, however, as he doesn't have the funds - but he does want to kill a Zebra and almost manages it on his first attempt. Fortunately he missed.
One pillock is immensely pleased with himself for shooting a Kudu through both lungs and possibly the heart. He calls this a "good shot". However, they are unable to track down the animal, despite it loosing a lot of blood. The barbaric nature of this activity means that an animal could be left wounded and bleeding before dying. They later find the beast and pose with it for photos. The tit who shot it said "after you kill and wonderful beast like this, this is the important part". If it's so wonderful, why kill it? He later calls its dead body "beautiful". "If I was very wealthy I would take any animal I could get" he later says, when Louis questions him if he would kill an Elephant.
I remember a quote from someone who once said "Only Americans could blow the head off a deer and call it sport". It just shows what a sick world we live in - where people can legitimately kill - actually end a life - for fun and excitement. Defenceless animals who aren't even aware the hunters are even there.
